He's 11!!! How is that possible? My boy who unexpectedly came 2 and 1/2 months premature, who survived his first 30 days of life in the NICU, who spent his first 6 months not allowed to leave the house, who worked for hours in therapy because of his prematurity, who spoke in full sentences and was potty trained at 18 months, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of 2, who walked at the age of 4 (2 years earlier than expected!), who asked Jesus into his heart in this same year, who moved overseas at the age of 5, who mastered a second language by the age of 6, who started running and jumping at the age of 7, who began playing soccer at the age of 8, who overcame obstacle after obstacle, surgery after surgery, therapy after therapy at the age of 9, who began learning his
third language at the age of 10... my son... who captured the hearts of everyone along the way, whose faith is stronger than many adults I know... my Nathan is ELEVEN! :) On May 4th we celebrated our miracle boy. :)
Birthdays always start out with special breakfasts here at the White house. :) All of Nathan's favorites...
Nathan wanted a Star Wars theme for his 11th birthday... and seeing that he was born on May the 4th, we thought it was pretty appropriate! We found "May the 4th be with you..." in lots of different places!... even here in Spain! :) Did you know that May 4th is officially "Star Wars Day"? :)
Weston planned all the games for the day, and we worked hard on all the little details to make the day special for Nathan. :)
Happy Birthday, my Nathan boy! :)
