One thing we have missed from the States is bagels! We could find them at the Taste of America, our "American Store" here in Valencia, along with root beer, Dr. Pepper, Jelly Bellies, and Peanutbutter Cups. Most things we can find in our local grocery store in the "international isle" (like jalapeños!), but there were some of the things we could only get at the American store. But now...
Thomas' Bagels are making their debut in Spain! :) We were out and about during Fallas (that post coming up next!), and we came across this Bagel stand. They were giving away free bagels, just to get their name out. The boys were so thrilled. The lady out front was trying to explain to people what bagels were, and our kids immediately began explaining that we were from the States and bagels were their favorite. :) They were so excited at the thought of a toasted bagel!
They could choose their topping of choice for the toasted bagel. Weston chose Nutella, of course. The other two just wanted butter. They lady thought they were nuts... Spaniards don't really eat butter on bread. :)
Oh happy day... :) We can now buy bagels on the bread isle at our local grocery store!
