It was so fun to have Mom here for her birthday. Carolina had been talking about Grandmommy's cake forever... my mom is gluten free like Carolina, which made it so much more exciting for Carolina, for some reason. :) Whenever we asked what kind of cake mom wanted, she would always tell me to make whatever was easiest. Well, that's not how it works on our family!!!! :) She had to choose! :) Mom finally came up with the idea of a chocolate cake with mocha frosting. It was such an amazing combination!!! This was definitely a case where it tasted better than it looked! haha... ;) It was incredible... I think it's become a new family favorite, as all my coffee loving children couldn't get enough of the frosting!
Then, of course, we had presents! Each one of the kids got to pick out something for Grandmommy, and Carolina also made a special picture for Grandmommy.
Happy Birthday, Mom! We had the best day with you! Thanks for coming all the way over here to celebrate with us! We love you!... and are missing you tons right about now. :)
