Exploring la Provincia de Valencia

The kids had a "puente" in October. "Puente" literally means "bridge."  They use this term when there is a holiday that falls on a Thursday, and they give the kids off on Friday as well... it's a "bridge" to the weekend.  So... we had a puente in October and decided to go exploring a little bit.

We live on the coast of Spain, so we live right on the beach.  The cool thing is that we can turn around the other way and see the beautiful mountains in the skyline. We haven't yet taken the time to explore them, so we decided this was our weekend!

We packed a lunch and took off toward the mountains in the distance... without directions or a specific destination.  The important thing was that the GPS could always get us home, no matter where we ended up! So, off we went.

We wound our way all the way up to the top of a mountain and then back down to the valley on the other side.  The views were amazing.  Once we got to the valley on the other side, we parked and found a place to eat, explore and play.

We found lots of beautiful places.

It was great family time!
